❪ OLYMPIA. ❫

INSIDE OLYMPIAMURKWELL HOLLOWEDRATHE RUINS/TOWERTHE OUTPOSTS

OUTLINE: INSIDE OLYMPIA

By far the largest city in all of El Nysa. Olympia's economy continues to grow as people move within the city walls with the promise of business opportunities. For that reason, Olympia is considered the best city to start a new life. There are four districts: Residential, Market, Entertainment, and Noble districts. The Empress's Palace lies in the west walls with towers that overlook the city.
RESIDENTIAL DISTRICT: The residential district is dense with people living practically on top of one another, and it's not always the cleanest part of the city. Starter dormitories are offered to new residents at no cost for the first month, after which they will be forced to play a small fee per month to use their facilities, unless the residents agree to help with maintenance. There are also "better" neighbors for those who are able to afford it, but those are only available PCs with jobs.

MARKET DISTRICT: Where you can find everything you can possibly need! The market offers a variety of foods, supplies, fine fabrics, and drugs — from flea markets to formal malls. There is never a shortage of things you can buy, if you can afford it. Who knows, maybe you'll find yourself a part-time job here!

ENTERTAINMENT DISTRICT: The entertainment district is split into two major parts: the Theater and Red Light. The former is always filled with music and laughter. At night, dancers and street performers come out to play. As you leave one side to enter the other, there is a clear change of mood. The lights on the streets are dimmer, the voices are quieter, people show more skin or perhaps too much skin. Be careful. Those men and women of varying races do tend to have sticky fingers. Ashti can sometimes be seen on patrol here.

NOBLE DISTRICT: Where the rich people are. In time, you will perhaps be here permanently. In the meantime, you're probably only here to find Evras and Lysa for whatever reason.

EMPRESS'S PALACE: The palace walls are open to all residents. The open courtyard is free for all to use as training grounds, but no one is allowed inside the palace itself. Eager for the Empress's approval, numerous men and women spar day by day in hopes that they will gain recognition. Sometimes, she would entertain herself to watch them. This inspired gladiator-style matches that are held in the courtyard as a method of recruitment. You can find Empress Simwe and Ashti here.
MURKWELL HOLLOW

They say this is a burial ground of dragon that was slain in the long past — before death, the dragon cursed the land. Since then, the Hollow is devoid of greenery and life. A thick fog shrouds the marshes at night, and those who have tried to venture it at night has disappeared. Locals will warn newcomers about Murkwell, but they won't stop people who wish to sate their curiosity. Many scavenger type monsters lurk here.
  • It appears that there is a giant skull of another sort, too, but locals have not been able to identify who or what. This subject greatly interests Evras.
  • In fact, there are several skeletal remains of various species, including humans. No one can say for sure what happened to them. Perhaps they were just caught at the wrong place at the wrong time.
  • The marshes smell like smoke and oil, and the air is always hot.
EDRATHE RUINS/TOWER

There's not much that remains of the Edrathe Ruins. Edrathe used to be a village farm that sold their crops to Olympia, blessed by a dragon. That is, until the family was exiled to the south — the land is barren now, but you can still see the structures that the settlers once built in mother Thesa and the dragon's honor.

THE OUTPOSTS

There are a total of three outposts: the North Outpost that leads to Nadril, West Outpost that leads to the Outlook, and finally, the South Outpost that will get you to Wyver. Each of these outposts require a special permit in order to enter and leave; without it, they are to remain where in their kingdoms. It is possible to get a passport from NPCs in the future, but for now, they are only allowed inside Olympia's borders.

While there is no outpost for the east leading to Dranbu and Stroln, they do not allow people to their cities and villages without special reason.
